Marie-Louise Spiess Nielsen

Marie-Louise Spiess Nielsen is a danish artist based in Switzerland.

With a background in contemporary dance and choreography, MLSN left this form of expression behind, now working in multiple areas of art and design. 

​

MLSN is working out of her studio at Takatuka in Däniken, where she also lives with her husband and child.

Statement

“My work is my attempt to capture the beauty and mystery of something that exists beyond language. I draw inspiration from the simplicity and the abstractions of my surroundings. I seek beauty in many places and moments, in every thing and every person, even in those places where it generally is perceived to not exist. I find it an exciting creative process and highly satisfying, especially when I am able to evoke emotion in the viewer.”

 

“I am fighting for my beliefs with creation and inspiring others to do the same. Believing in the long slow fight winning at the end and dismantling the systems I believe to be constraining every human being and keeping them from full expression.”
